In 1958, an employee at State Farm Insurance in Chicago had an idea. Patricia Bays Haroski felt that if she could succeed in establishing a national day to celebrate the relationship between employers and their employees, that we would see more productive and happier workplaces. Her efforts resulting in National Boss’s Day, which became official in 1962 and is currently not only observed in the United States, but also in Australia, India and South Africa.
At Norfolk Florist, we see every day the importance of recognizing those who encourage, mentor, inspire and promote others. A great boss does all of these things, and October 16 is the day to tell them how much you appreciate them.
Did You Know? We spend nearly one third of our adult life at work. When the environment is productive and dynamic, it can be an exceptionally positive life experience.
Those who earn the title of “Best Boss” are the ones who draw the best out of their employees, who create a strong team, and who promote fairness and opportunity for everyone willing to work hard. If your boss fits that description, whether CEO or supervisor, a gift on National Boss’s Day will let them know how appreciated they are.
Orchids and green plants are both classic gifts for the office. Orchids (shown above) will add color and class to a corporate or office environment; while a dish garden adds vibrant life and easy-care beauty to virtually any workplace. Your boss will enjoy either of these gifts for many months to come, and will be reminded every day that you think that they are awesome.
Another great gift idea is to send one of our gourmet baskets – from chocolate to fruit, everyone loves receiving delicious snacks, and we have a great assortment to choose from.
If you have a great boss, don’t let National Boss’s Day pass without recognizing them. Norfolk Florist can deliver to offices and places of business across Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Hampton, Newport News, Suffolk and Yorktown.
