Make Grandparents Day Extra Special

As summertime draws to an end, we are reminded that the day to honor grandparents is almost here! Typically celebrated on the first Sunday after Labor Day, Grandparents Day presents an opportunity for grandchildren to recognize and appreciate their special bond with their grandparents.

Parents can have their kids select a beautiful flower arrangement, a long-lasting plant design, or a special gift to send on Grandparents Day. The floral designers at Norfolk Florist are happy to deliver your special selection anywhere within the Norfolk area, including local senior communities, nursing homes, assisted-living facilities, as well as private residences throughout the country.

Send A Special Delivery

Grandparents will love our English Garden design, filled with colorful gladiolas, blue delphinium, orange lilies, green button poms, carnations, gerbera daisies and more. Arranged in a decorative wicker basket with a handle, this arrangement does it all with grace and beauty!

For a bright floral design, give grandparents Royal Sunshine. Send this cute and sweet arrangement features yellow roses, purple aster and blue delphinium in three different sizes designed in a glass vase. This gift is sure to be memorable.

For a long-lasting gift, send our beautiful 12-inch Dish Garden With Fresh Orchids.  Filled with an assortment of lush indoor plants, it’s accented with 6 stems of fresh-cut dendrobium orchids for extra beauty and color!

A tasty option for grandparents is our Fruit and Gourmet basket. Items including fresh fruit, cheese and crackers are displayed in a lovely willow basket.

For a gorgeous blooming arrangement, choose our Basket of Cheer, filled with bright and fluffy pink, purple, yellow and white flowers.

Finally, choose a 10″ Ceramic Garden filled with assorted green plants potted together – a gift that is not only beautiful but very easy to maintain.

If you have the opportunity to spend time with grandparents on this special day, we have a few ideas about ways to make that time spent extra special.

Do a Craft Together

Organize a craft day with kids and grandparents. Let them choose something that they love to do together like painting, baking or quilting. Or, turn this into an opportunity for grandparents to teach grandchildren something new. Everyone walks away with a new treasure and a memory from a special day together.

Perform a Talent Show

Let children showcase their special talents for grandparents by organizing a talent show. Kids can perform their most recent music or dance piece or some special moves from their karate class. Do grandparents have a special talent as well? Have them show off a little for grandkids, as well.

Host a Sleepover

Invite grandparents and grandchildren to have their own sleepover, complete with a favorite movie or bedtime story that grandparents can share with grandchildren. Send pizza, treats or breakfast items so grandparents can simply enjoy the evening with their grandchildren.

Grandparents Day is an excellent time for honoring and celebrating those who have built the family you have now. Let children be part of recognizing this by sending beautiful flowers, plants, gifts or just by spending time together.
